Sure, she might seem like she has a tough exterior, but you can't deny the props needed to be given to her. Allen does not take shit from no one, and refuses to follow the trail of ass kissers in the business. Her refreshing insight on celebritydom and her in-your-face lyrics make her relatable and fun to watch. She is willing to be different than all the other 'it' starlets of our time, and she could not care less. Called a bitch by some, though I really admire her. I find it so admirable that she can put her foot down and speak her mind, not caring about the people listening. Not to mention, her music is so catchy and I'm sure, the topics covered can be understood by many listeners. From enjoying revenge on an ex-lover to the decieving streets of London, and even her THC-experimenting brother, she is ruthless and proud of it. I'm telling you, I cannot stop listening to this girl! Her music's so damn catchy, and sure to make my day happier, and make me smile. ;]Here is my Alright, Still Top 3:
1) Smile -- Of course, the infamous song that exploded the charts! It may seem mundane that I picked this song, because, after all, doesn't everyone know this song? Well, it may be, but this hit single struck a high note for me. It's rhythms so entrancing and lyrics that seem nonchalant make this an awesome song. I'm constantly singing this song!
2) LDN -- Again, I know it's another hit single. But you can't help but love it! The ska/calypso beats are so welcoming and bright. However, underneath the upbeat tempo and high trumpets are not-so-bright details about London town. Only makes me like it more!
3) Everything's Just Wonderful -- Very first Lily Allen song I heard. I remember hearing this on the radio and thinking, 'oh my God, who is this?' and when I found out it was Lily Allen, I figured I'd have another taste. Like the other Lily songs, it's upbeat and 'happy', but the song describes insecurities and problems that are rummaging through Ms. Allen's mind. Definitely a song I can relate to!

Don't be fooled by the hate of many norms and celebrities alike, there is much love for Ms. Allen. Her debut album, Alright Still, was released in the U.K. in July 2006, landing at an impressive #2 on the charts. The popular album was then later on released in January 2007 in the U.S., coming in the Billboard charts at a respectable #20. Her fan base kept growing and growing, thanks to a little website called MySpace. While waiting for her album to be released, Allen created a MySpace account and posted some of her demos. Thousands of listeners listened to her tunes, creating a new wave of fame for Lily.
This Londoner also has a great sense of style, I must say! Although some can call her a chav, I think it's just simply London street scene. From tennis shoes coordinated with flowy sundresses to those classic gold door knocker hoops, her style is original yet classic all at once. The rave/boho feel is refreshing and darling, unlike the 'juicy couture' hogs like Lohan and Paris. I absolutely love this girl's fashion sense, and I could totally see her as one of the new fashion icons of our generation. And it is definitely not going unnoticed! She is going to come out with her very own fashion line called Lily Loves, due to come out sometime soon this year. I can't wait to get my hands on those vintage-inspired dresses I'm expecting to see!
