Sit the FUCK down!

Yeah, you heard him. Listen to Mister Dom. SIT THE FUCK DOWN!!!!

Hells yeah.

Muse = Sit the fuck down.

They are that awesome.

Happy Belated Birthday Har--Err-- Daniel!

I was gonna post this yesterday, but I was feeling like a lazyass. Anyways, Happy 18th, you sexy bastard!

**Speaking of Daniel, I finally saw HP5! It was good, a little rushed at the end, but good. I'm not gonna go into a page-long review of the movie, that's something that Pitchfork would do (and do horribly...). I give it an 8/10. It was good. The end.

Mister Dom and His Prettyful Trousers.

Oh Dom. How I love you. You are probably the cutest little drummer in the history of the world. But you know what I also love about you other than your undeniable talent? Your trousers!!!

Behold, Dominic Howard...and his trousers.

Sorry...I just HAD to put this one in! vv

Speaking of Muse, I cannot stop listening to them today! They are playing on iTunes as I type. One song that I just can't stop listening to: Stockholm Syndrome. The very first song that I had heard from Muse. I fell in love instantly. Curious? Check it out yourself:

Two Days Left.

Hells. Fuckin'. Yeah.

I Feel Annoyed.

Today has been a peaceful, relaxing day so far. But there has been a lot on my mind, and a lot of things that are bothering me. Rather than just going on about them in an essay, I'll just make a list:

1. How Americans are starting to call it 'football' now that Posh & Becks are here.

I'm not gonna lie, I've always wondered when will Americans actually call the damn sport by its real name (football). I call it football myself, with a bunch of people staring at me when I do so. I don't call it that just to sound intelligent or pretentious. I call it football because that's its frackin' name. When I hear those 'news' correspondents on E! calling it football now, I just wanna throw an actual football at Ryan Seacrest's head. With all the Americans calling it football now, it sounds so snobby and...phoney. They could give two shits about the sport, but would all of the sudden call it by its actual name. Please. Let's just call keep it as soccer, before England and the rest of the world is laughing at us and at our hypocrisy.

2. Hollister

Let me make one thing clear: I have nothing against PEOPLE who wear Hollister (well, maybe some...). However, I do have something against the actual clothing. First of all: ew? How cookie-cutter and generic can they get? Polo shirts that cost $40 and microminis that Gary Coleman can wear as a headband. How can people call this fashion? Every time I go to the mall, I dread seeing bottle blondes in fuzzy flip flops and popped collar polos shopping in Hollister and all that other preppy shit. It's expensive and not even remotely cute. People only wear the clothes to fit in with everybody else. But then again, if everyone dressed nicely, there'd be no more for me. =P

3. The sound that silverware make when they scratch each other.

'Nuff said.
4. How adults think that all teenagers are the same.
Because, frankly, they aren't. Not every kid is snobby, mean and whiney. Everyone's different, and many kids are basically like adults trapped in a teenager's body. A lot of kids actually have class and won't do those stupid things that result from peer pressure. I think adults should cut some slack on some kids, because they are not at all bad. Just because they are a teenager, doesn't mean they necessarily have to be treated like one. They can be treated like a mature individual.
5. People that only like music that is mainstream.
I love music. But most of the music that I listen to is unheard of by my friends and the kids at school. When I talk about my music, people just kinda push it aside and are like 'oh, well I listen to Fall Out Boy.' And then, if something that I like plays on the radio, they are totally into it and they're like 'oh em GEE i lovvvvvve that song!' Bullshit, you only like it because other people like it. OH! One time I quoted the line from Closer, the one where Alice (Natalie Portman) says, "lying is the most fun a girl can do without taking their clothes off, but it's better if you do". And all of a sudden my friend snapped at me and gave me a face and said, "Ohh, that's a song from Panic! At the Disco." All snobbishly and shit. I'm like 'uhh yeah I already know that. And they stole the line from Closer. It doesn't make them geniuses if they do that. They probably did it just to seem cool. Also, I hate that frackin' exclamation point in their name. 'Ooooh, this -->! is gonna be so hip. Everyone's gonna think we are a cool indie band!' Uhh yeah...try again. Nevermind, don't try again, because you'll still suck.
Rant over...now.

My Perfect Room

I woke up this morning and looked around my room. It's cluttered with things that I don't want or need. My sister's things basically take up all the space in the room. And she's only eight! How many things can an eight year-old have? And all the things that are mine are just little pieces of junk lying around. I finally came to a conclusion: my room does not show who I am as a person. I may be just a tad bit boring, but come on. Not THIS boring. The paint on the wall doesn't even really describe me. Lavender is one of my favorite colors, but as for describing my personality...I'm not a very soft and gentle person. I am wanting very much to change things in my room, but the chances of that actually happening are slim.
I was surfing through the internet for a little bit today, when I found this very intriguing site. And I must say, the products they carry are awesome! A lot of the stuff is handmade by other people, and people can sign up and sell their own stuff. It's pretty schweet. From the adorable notebooks to the quirky vintage dresses, I could buy their whole stock. And I thought, Wow, a lot of this stuff can be cute for my room. So an idea sparked for another post! What items from Etsy would be perfect for my ideal bedroom. So after perusing for some time, I found a lot of things that would work.

I was thinking of perhaps a new wall color. But then I realized, I would much rather have a plain white wall. That way the contents of my room can speak for itself, not the wall. Also, it's extremely versatile. ;]

This painting's actual size is only 8" x 10", but I find that it's so adorable, and the girl in the picture reminds me of myself. =P
This painting is just lovely (no pun intended...). I love the colors, and the etherealness is very enjoyable.

I love black and white photography. The simplicity of this photo is what really made me fall in love with it. It reminds me of going to Carmel and Monterrey in California last year. Ahhh those were the days...

How quirky is this lamp? So cute...as a matter of fact, I need a new lamp at the moment...

The pillow is kinda retro a la Andy Warhol. And it's green! =D

Reminds me of popsicles... =P Loves it!

So kitsch and I love the blue. Great to put next to 'Bowl'.

Lavender Mint Aromatherapy.... ^.^

I need a new journal, and this is very vintage.

**Yeah....a lot of the stuff doesn't match together. But so what? It's my room, and I hate matchy-matchy stuff. I'm eclectic, so why can't my room be? These items along with the pages of ELLE I've plastered on the walls, It'll be perfect.

'Emma'zing.

Yeah, I know. It's not the greatest pun ever. Don't kill me for it. I'm still working on it.
Anyway, onward to our subject. I had no idea this girl was that awesome! She's so gorgeous, intelligent, level-headed, and for her age, she's pretty good as an actress. What's that I hear? The next Kate Winslet? Perhaps, my darlings, perhaps...
In People Magazine, she speaks of how girls today are...not so bright:
"There are too many stupid girls in the media. Hermione's not scared to be clever. I think sometimes really smart girls dumb themselves down a bit, and that's bad."

"I'm a bit of a feminist. I'm very competitive and challenging."

Seriously, does this girl know how to preach or what? Damn, America needs more classier girls like her.

Even though acting is definitely a passion she'll live with for most of her life, she plans to go to university. And with her grades, I'm sure she won't have much trouble. She's a straight A student! Wow, a girl with smarts. I truly admire her.

And on TOP of all of that, she seems to be the new face of French fashion powerhouse Chanel. For a seventeen year-old, that is one hell of a feat. When I think of teenagers in Chanel, I tend to think of teenyboppers carrying the giant quilted bag in one hand and Starbucks in another while shopping for polos in Hollister. Ick. It's such a damn shame, for the designs that were meant to be seen as the classiest of the world can look so cheap and trendy. It seriously makes me gag. I'm sure Madamoiselle Coco is rolling in her grave right now. But enough about that. Miss Watson definitely brings class back to the Chanel facade once again, appearing in various Chanel ensembles at the OOTP premieres:

UK Premiere

LA Premiere

Paris Premiere

Also, she's supposedly signed to Storm, the modeling agency that boosted Kate Moss to fame. Wow, Monsuier Karl, you must be very confident in this gem. Well I don't blame him. She pulls off the dresses with such class and sophisication and I envy that immensely. Maybe she'll be on my idol list, right under Natalie Portman. Above Natalie, you ask? Nonsense. Not yet anyways. But you can ask me in ten years, maybe things could change... ;]

At The Moment:

Feels: Like hopping on a plane and going off to Paris. (Because I SHOULD be, dammit!)

Listening to: Klaxon's Myths of the Near Future
Reading: Possible Side Effects by Augusten Burroughs

Watching: Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amélie Poulain (A.k.a one of the greatest movies of ALL TIME)

Doing: Thinking what else I could do this summer...
Hoping: Everything will be okay.

GET THEM OUT OF HERE!!!!

Seriously, I'm getting SICK of these two...and Beckham didn't even start his season at LA Galaxy yet.

Britain should be pretty happy to get rid of these two. Ugh too bad Americans have to deal with them now...

Becks used to be looked at as a football star. He still is, but not the way he used to. Can you say, 'sell-out'? Please, he says he's coming here to help bring soccer back in America, but who's he trying to fool? He is merely coming here for Hollywood and fame. I'm not a Beckham fan at all, but this could really ruin his football career.

Don't get me started on Victoria. Jesus Christ, what is up with those 'girls'? Bullshit, those are not real. I hope the pollution here doesn't deflate them...
Girl has to smile once in a while. the whole leaving-mouth-open-sleazily thing is not cute. Be a little human okay? Oh, and stop being a label whore, and eat a big mac.

Maybe I'm wrong, maybe America will welcome them in open arms (TomKat did...). But my opinions stand strong: I don't like them. WANNA FIGHT?

Some Photos...

I'm interested in photography, and I'm taking the photography course next year at South. Right now, I'm an amateur photographer lacking the talent and equipment. =P I'm not the greatest, and I can never take the perfect picture. It's frustrating sometimes, when I'm trying to do some awesome stills, and they turn out incredibly crappy. And I don't have a great camera. I have this shitty digital camera that is on the verge of breaking. It's annoying, but I suppose it'll do for now. Everyone has those awesome Nikon cameras that take amazing pictures, and I don't! When I see people's work I'm like 'wow, why can't I do that?' Well first off, I don't have the same talent as them. Second, I don't have an awesome camera, like this:

Isn't it gorgeous? Problem is, it's pretty expensive. Really really good ones can go up to $1,000. Oh gee, how great for me. I'm already broke as it is. So, if anyone wants to be generous and hook a sister up with a nice camera, that'd be great appreciated. ;]
Until I miraculously find some money, I take pictures with my old camera. And these, well, they aren't great. But it's the best I've done:
I was knitting one day and I was inspired by the ball of yarn I was working with. It's one of the best I've done. I love the deepness of the red and the texture of the yarn.

I'll admit, this one was altered one the computer. =P I was taking pictures of the sky last summer, and the original colors were a mix of blues, pinks and purples. I played around with the colors and I like the reds and oranges. It looks like a fire in the sky, doesn't it?

Hehe, my friend Katie and I had a tea party at lunch with the Princess tea set she got on her birthday. It was a lot of fun! We drank flavored water in the tea cups and ate 'biscuits' (sugar cookies...) =P This is one of my favorite pictures as well. I look the brightness of the colors and the lines of the table.

No, I'm Certainly Not A Smug Twat!

I'm just like everyone else. I am getting so damn annoyed at the 'I'm not a plastic bag' bag from Anya Hindmarch. Selling out with a $15 handbag with celebrities carrying it just as a trend. Keira Knightley holding it in her hand does not make me want to have it more, trust me. Don't get me wrong, I'm totally 'go green', but this is not about going green at all. It's just plain selling out.

I love, however, the statement being said in the 'I'm not a smug twat' bag from EKM Power Shop. It's a total bite back at the annoying trend, and pretty funny too. I don't think I could see myself carrying that around, though. Scratch that-- I think I can. ;]

We'll Always Have Paris...

Oh, how I long to be in Paris...

I was supposed to go this summer by myself, but chances of that are not looking so good. I still haven't got my passport renewed, and I heard the process takes a looooooooong time. I've got nothing to do this summer, and my only hope was to be in Paris, the city of lights. I want to see my family in France, I want to go on adventures (sorry if that sounds like fromage...). I want to get out of here! I'm tired of this place I'm in and the people around me. I want to escape and live a little! And now, because of my laziness, I won't go. I'm stuck in suburbia, all alone. That will be something I'll learn and keep in the back of my mind. Being lazy gives you nothing! *weeps* Je't aime, Paris!

Sex is Back in the City!!!

Time to break in those Manolos again! The girls are back, and I can't be any more excited for it!!

The long-awaited Sex and the City movie is going to begin shooting this fall. All four original leading ladies will reprise their roles as Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker), Charlotte (Kristin Davis), Miranda (Cynthia Nixon), and last but certainly not least, Samantha (Kim Cattrall).

The idea of a SatC movie came about right after the end of the series, however there was some conflictions having to do with Cattrall. The actress axed plans of the production after some salary issues. But rest assured, she is signed on to do the movie with a deal including a better salary and a future deal with HBO, according to the Daily Variety. The movie will be directed by the original serie's director Michael Patrick King.

When I first heard of this news, I was so estatic! After watching reruns on syndication throughout the year, I am way excited for some new material from our ladies of Manhattan. Hopefully the movie will live up to the show!

If you're like me and can't wait til next year when the movie comes out, just pick up the Sex and the City DVD set. Six seasons of heaven! I'm telling you, this show is like the Bible for women. If you have never seen it, check it out! Invite all your girl friends and watch it all together. It's a great bonding activity. ;]

[[Music of the Moment]]LILY ALLEN

Sure, she might seem like she has a tough exterior, but you can't deny the props needed to be given to her. Allen does not take shit from no one, and refuses to follow the trail of ass kissers in the business. Her refreshing insight on celebritydom and her in-your-face lyrics make her relatable and fun to watch. She is willing to be different than all the other 'it' starlets of our time, and she could not care less. Called a bitch by some, though I really admire her. I find it so admirable that she can put her foot down and speak her mind, not caring about the people listening. Not to mention, her music is so catchy and I'm sure, the topics covered can be understood by many listeners. From enjoying revenge on an ex-lover to the decieving streets of London, and even her THC-experimenting brother, she is ruthless and proud of it. I'm telling you, I cannot stop listening to this girl! Her music's so damn catchy, and sure to make my day happier, and make me smile. ;]

Here is my Alright, Still Top 3:

1) Smile -- Of course, the infamous song that exploded the charts! It may seem mundane that I picked this song, because, after all, doesn't everyone know this song? Well, it may be, but this hit single struck a high note for me. It's rhythms so entrancing and lyrics that seem nonchalant make this an awesome song. I'm constantly singing this song!

2) LDN -- Again, I know it's another hit single. But you can't help but love it! The ska/calypso beats are so welcoming and bright. However, underneath the upbeat tempo and high trumpets are not-so-bright details about London town. Only makes me like it more!

3) Everything's Just Wonderful -- Very first Lily Allen song I heard. I remember hearing this on the radio and thinking, 'oh my God, who is this?' and when I found out it was Lily Allen, I figured I'd have another taste. Like the other Lily songs, it's upbeat and 'happy', but the song describes insecurities and problems that are rummaging through Ms. Allen's mind. Definitely a song I can relate to!

Don't be fooled by the hate of many norms and celebrities alike, there is much love for Ms. Allen. Her debut album, Alright Still, was released in the U.K. in July 2006, landing at an impressive #2 on the charts. The popular album was then later on released in January 2007 in the U.S., coming in the Billboard charts at a respectable #20. Her fan base kept growing and growing, thanks to a little website called MySpace. While waiting for her album to be released, Allen created a MySpace account and posted some of her demos. Thousands of listeners listened to her tunes, creating a new wave of fame for Lily.

This Londoner also has a great sense of style, I must say! Although some can call her a chav, I think it's just simply London street scene. From tennis shoes coordinated with flowy sundresses to those classic gold door knocker hoops, her style is original yet classic all at once. The rave/boho feel is refreshing and darling, unlike the 'juicy couture' hogs like Lohan and Paris. I absolutely love this girl's fashion sense, and I could totally see her as one of the new fashion icons of our generation. And it is definitely not going unnoticed! She is going to come out with her very own fashion line called Lily Loves, due to come out sometime soon this year. I can't wait to get my hands on those vintage-inspired dresses I'm expecting to see!

Happy 4th!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful Fourth of July that is full of fun! While you are gulping down some hotdogs and sipping some lemonade, lounge around in style with your family and friends!

An Evening with some very talented ladies

In the midst of 'three'quels and action flicks coming out in theaters this summer, one low-key movie that has stuck out to me is 'Evening', a movie directed by Lajos Koltai based on the novel by Susan Minot, the mind that gave you 'The Hours'. After repeatedly seeing the adverts on the telly, I couldn't decide whether or not I wanted to see this film because of the amazing cast or the intriguing plot. All the women casted in this movie are some of the greatest actresses, including Meryl Streep. I could sit here for an hour trying to concoct a summary for you, but I found one lengthy and understandable enough on imdb.com:

Evening is a deeply emotional film that illuminates the timeless love which binds mother and daughter -- seen through the prism of one mother's life as it crests with optimism, navigates a turning point, and ebbs to its close. Two pairs of real-life mothers and daughters -- Vanessa Redgrave and Natasha Richardson, and Meryl Streep and Mamie Gummer -- portray, respectively, a mother and her daughter and the mother's best friend at different stages in life. Overcome by the power of memory, Ann Lord (Vanessa Redgrave) reveals a long-held secret to her concerned daughters; Constance (Natasha Richardson), a content wife and mother, and Nina (Toni Collette), a restless single woman. Both are bedside when Ann calls out for the man she loved more than any other. But who is this "Harris," wonder her daughters, and what is he to our mother? While Constance and Nina try to take stock of Ann's life and their own lives, their mother is tended to by a night nurse (Eileen Atkins) as she journeys in her mind back to a summer weekend some fifty years before, when she was Ann Grant (Claire Danes), a young woman who has come from New York City to be maid of honor at the high-society Newport wedding of her dearest friend from college, Lila Wittenborn (Mamie Gummer). The bride-to-be is jittery, and turns to her maid of honor rather than her own mother (Glenn Close) for support. Ann stays close to her friend, yet is even closer to Lila's irrepressible brother Buddy (Hugh Dancy). Unexpected feelings surge forth once Ann meets wedding guest Harris Arden (Patrick Wilson), a lifelong friend and intimate of the Wittenborn family. Ann's love for Harris will change her life, and those of her daughters, forever.

Seems very interesting, doesn't it? Well, unless you don't appreciate the art of beautiful cinema. Don't worry. You are not the only one, I'm sure. I hope to see this movie sometime this week. If not, I suppose I could wait til it comes out on DVD.

Don't worry, I'm still alive.

Yeah...the last time I blogged was in November. Wow, school does get in the way of things.

Well it's summer now, time is handed to me on a platter. I'm back and back with a vengance! More blogging is coming...I hope.
