The Gunn Show

School has really been eating up my time--and part of my time is blogging time. If you don't see posts throughout the week, I'm probably outlining history homework. :(

But no fear! I haven't given up on this blog just yet. My best bet is that I will definitely do some major post-age on weekends.

Anyways, back to the topic of reason. For about three weeks now, I have been PSYCHED about former Parsons instructor and Project Runway mentor Tim Gunn's new show on Bravo called 'Tim Gunn's Guide To Style', which is very apropos. This man is a fashion therapist, someone every girl needs now and then. The tag line: "Your style, my rules".

The premise of the show is with the help with former supermodel Veronica Webb, Mr. Gunn helps style-challenged women. They don't just teach the women how to dress nicely, though, but more so teaching them how to dress fashionably with their own sense of style. Rather than just piling cashmere sweater after cashmere sweater on the poor woman's laps and bark at them to buy them, the style duo want them to be happy with the clothes, and that it personifies them. They compile a list consisting of items needed in women's closets, including the perfect black pant and casual work dress. Not only do all the clothes fit into the stylish category, but also the refreshed woman's style as well.

After an aerobic workout's worth of shopping, grooming is up next. Hair and makeup great out the refreshing new lady, looking more polished and ready to get out there.

This show is pretty amazing, from what I saw on the season premiere. It's similar to What Not To Wear, but the women have more of their voice in the decision, which is crucial to bringing together your own great style. Everything is just fabulous, right down to those black pointed toe pumps shown in the episode.

Don't hesitate to watch this show! If you ever see a rerun of the premiere, brace yourself for a Catherine Malandrino appearance!! :)
