Swede Style

New York City...Paris...Milan...

...Stockholm? Indeed the immediate connotation is not 'fashion capital', but perhaps instead meatballs and smörgåsbord. Lagerfeld, Jacobs and Galliano may not hail from this Nordic city, but fashion has a more...practical approach. Neutral tights and draping fabrics mixed with classic pieces make a simple, yet envious style for people of Stockholm. Many Swedish designers create immaculately stylish pieces, despite the cliche of parkas and milk-maid dresses.

My new blog of the moment is Stockholmstreetstyle. Yes, I do realize it is not in English. But the photos are all I need. After all, a picture says a thousand words. A thousand fashionably apt words.

It is so casual, yet undeniably chic. The classic trench coat paired with the exotic multi-colored print dress. Fabulous. Those shades don't hurt, either.

More classics: The wool peacoat and black boots. Definitely necessities for this autumn, and this lovely lady goes for modern chic.

The high-tops with grey skinnies and leopard print bag scream street scene, yet the coat and and scarf softens the whole ensemble just a tad, creating something pulled together, yet still eclectic.
The mustard yellow of the jacket really compliments the neutrals of her outfit, creating a balance. (I want that jacket, by the way)

Not only do the ladies have impeccable style, but the gentlemen do as well! Skinnies and sweaters dominate the male wardrobe. And the European sense and air helps as well.*sigh* If only guys of suburbia dressed so stylishly... Perhaps they'd be just slightly more bearable!

Even kids have great style! Look at their chucks and jackets, thrown together so nonchalantly. Gosh, if I were 12, I'd totally be in love with them.

Perhaps Stockholm will the new Paris for sophistication? I'd rather not say, but this Scandinavian metropolis will definitely be part of my style inspirations.
